Question by Bob B: Has anyone put custom chopper mirrors on their truck to customize it?
Is this illegal since the mirrors are a little bit smaller? What mirrors did you buy?
Okay thanks a lot. I saw one truck that Arlen Ness installed the mirrors on it and they put a custom chrome panel on the door by the window and I think it was welded on or maybe it was bolted and the panel just covered it up but it didn’t look like it vibrated to much. Thanks a lot for your input icon smile Has anyone put custom chopper mirrors on their truck to customize it?

As a state vehicle inspector I have seen alot of these mirrors used and they are legal in alot of states because the laws reads that you must be able to see behind you 200 feet, the problem is that since they are somewhat unstable they will vibrate alot and then you will not be able to see clearly.

“WWJJD?”-Customize Your Truck with Fun & Functional Accessories

pin it button WWJJD? Customize Your Truck with Fun & Functional Accessories

Article by Whitney Boyce

Jesse James, American television personality and CEO of West Coast Choppers, may be getting more publicity for his recent infidelities to Sandra Bullock than he’s gotten for his customization talents, but his custom motorcycles, cars and trucks have always been spot on. When Jesse James does customization, he does it right. And, although no one should be thinking about taking marital advice from this guy…customization tips are a completely different story.

So, when you’re looking to customize your new or used rig, there are many additions to consider. But, let’s repeat the mantra, “WWJJD?” Yes, folks that stands for “What Would Jesse James Do?” And, the correct answer isn’t Michelle “Bombshell” McGee. Moving on, Jesse James is all about customization without conforming. So, when you’re looking for ways to customize your ride, thinking a little outside the box won’t hurt. So, go ahead and toss those flame decals out immediately.

Additions such as big rims and a ton of chrome are too mainstream and extremely gaudy; try opting for fun truck accessories that are also functional. Although typically oversized when seen on episodes of Pimp My Ride, we’re sure Jesse James would agree that a tasteful-sized headrest monitor on the back of your driver and passenger seats is both old school and bad-ass. Use your new headrest monitors for pumping up the excitement at a tailgate by looping your favorite amped-up tunes and music videos or keep it functional by popping in your kids’ beloved movie – driving has never been so peaceful. Those headrest monitors are sure to be the life of the party or your peace of mind while cruising with the little tykes. And, headrest monitors are available in a plethora of sizes – so if you do want to go a little large (with or without Jesse’s consent) you can!

Truck tool boxes are an additional accessory we are sure would get Jesse James’ stamp of approval. The customization of a truck toolbox could range from design, color or even something as simple as slapping a few bad-ass stickers on it – maybe a version of the Iron Cross or a Maltese Cross in Jesse’s honor? Choose from cross over truck toolboxes, side mount or specialty truck toolboxes or even toolboxes that double as a dog kennel – it’s all about fun and functionality!

Plus, you can’t get much more functional than adding a customized truck tool box to your rig. Keep anything from your hand tools to your camping or tailgate gear inside your truck tool box.

Customizing your rig doesn’t have to be expensive either. You can find inexpensive accessories like truck tool boxes and head rest monitors even if you don’t have Jesse James’ income. Even Jesse James, whose West Coast Choppers company makes bank charging 0 for a wife beater tank top, understands the value of getting a good deal. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Jesse jokes that he could get three tanks for 10 bucks at a local swap meet. See – we told you Jesse was all about fun and functionality.

When you need tips on customizing your ride with a truck tool box and aheadrest monitor, turn to a customization pro for all the do’s and don’ts.
