New Episodes Of American Chopper: Senior vs Junior
I love my DVR. But it makes me lazy. Once I have a timer set to record I never really pay attention to what’s going to be on TV. Take the last two new episodes of American Chopper: I just happen to discover them on my DVR last night. Kind of fast forwarded though the first episode.
Nothing really new from what I saw, daddy suing junior. Mikey getting props for his art in spite of his questionable talent. If he wasn’t “Mikey”, would people be paying any attention?
But I digress. Point is, most of my web site traffic comes from those looking for info on the show or PJD choppers. And I just missed writing about two new episodes of the show.
For those of you following my blog you’ve notice a shift towards favoring Junior over senior in this whole conflict/competition. Well last month I saw the Geico bike in person. I mean I could have sat on it. That close.
Very well done. I still don’t like the tail but the bike is very well made.
I been up close and personal with a lot of bikes from the early days of OCC, and it right up there in quality.
I know recently OCC has had some serious issues with unhappy customers but those first theme bikes were very well made.
Again I’m losing the point of this post; which was to apologize for not keeping up with the latest Senior vs Junior episodes. I promise to at least try and do better.
I say “try”, it is riding season you know.

American Chopper: Senior Vs Junior Season Finale
I can sum up last night’s episode in one sentence: Odie is a lying, whining piece of crap.
His firing was long over due. I have to give Paul Jr. props for putting up with him for as long as he did. He completely doesn’t understand the concept of employer/employee. If I’m paying your salary and I chose to sit on a stool all day and watch you work, that’s my prerogative.
Odie, for some reason had his own set of expectations of what he thought Paul Jr. should be doing. Obviously had an overinflated view of his own importance in the shop.
Paul was right to fire him and then even manned up later and admitted he could have handled it differently. The way he treated Odie when he came back for his tools was very professional.
On the other hand Paul needs to be aware of what he’s getting hiring this kid back.
Oh yeah, they also built a few bikes last night, the custom that PJD did was incredible, and the BIC bike by OCC, kind of standard fare from them, but I don’t know how much BIC was willing to spend, but honesty the giveaway bike PJD built was nicer.

OCC Foreclosure
Even though the news of OCC’s bank foreclosure came out in November, suddenly it’s all over the web again over the last couple days. For those of you who missed the story OCC deliberately missed making some bank payments in an effort to force their mortgage holder into a loan restructure and in turn had a foreclosure slapped on them.
Apparently, because their new headquarters is now only worth about $7 or $8 million and they paid about12 million to build it, OCC thinks it’s loan terms should be modified. Try that with your bank and let me know how you make out.
This whole thing is just another example of the arrogance of Orange County Choppers and Paul Sr. Personally I think the bank should move forward with the foreclosure. Orange County Choppers assumes the bank would never actually foreclose because they couldn’t sell the building to another buyer but the reality is; that if the bank did actually foreclose OCC would either come up with the money right quick or be out of business.
Again, I’m not sure why this is suddenly news again but since everyone else is writing about it and they’re basically just copying and pasting the original story I thought I would put my own spin on.

OCC Sues PJD Again
Looks like we got a glimpse into another Orange County Choppers vs Paul Jr. Designs lawsuit on the latest episode of American Chopper: Senior vs Junior. It took place in the scenes from the next episode.
While PJD starts their latest bike, Sr. decides to sue them because of Joe pursuing (and landing) a former potential OCC client as Junior’s latest chopper project.
Can you feel the fatherly love?
Yes indeed, OCC; mad about the fact that Faro chose PJD over them to build their bike, has nowhere to point blame but on Joe. It couldn’t possibly be because they think Jr. will build them a better bike, could it?
We all know that Sr.’s ego couldn’t even put that thought into the realm of possibilities.

American Chopper – Behind The Scenes
I finally got a chance to catch the last episode of American chopper the one that shows us behind the scenes with the filming of the show for the Discovery Channel. I thought it was an interesting glimpse into what goes on behind the cameras.
Probably the most interesting thing that was revealed during the show was the fact that Paul Junior had a no competition contract and that during the first year of PJD designs he was not allowed to build any custom choppers. You may recall that Senior took great pleasure that year in making fun of Paul Junior and the fact that he was designing things like gas grills and that they were starting a boutique for Rachel.
Another thing that I found quite disturbing was the fact that Paul Senior seem to think that this so-called competition was good for the show. In fact during the entire show it seem like Paul Senior is more concerned about what was good for the show that what was good for his family and his personal life.
There’s no doubt for anyone who watches the show that Paul Senior went out of his way in the beginning to try and sabotage Paul JR’s business. I think it’s safe to say now that he’s failed to do so.
In fact, with the new chopper built for Carolina Carports I believe it’s safe to say that Paul Jr. has successfully launched his new business. This last PJD custom chopper looked quite professional and reminded me of the earlier theme bikes that Paul designed back at OCC. Hopefully Paul is past his cartoon-looking design days and is back to designing professional motorcycles.
