OCC Choppers
I’ve been watching “American Chopper” since it first went on the air. I was fascinated by Paul Teutul and his crew and what they were able to do building choppers by hand. Paul Jr’s design work was phenomenal. The theme bikes were incredibly innovative and the family drama was mesmerizing.
American Chopper and Orange County Choppers made a lot of people yearn to ride a motorcycle even if they couldn’t afford a custom chopper. Paulie and Vinnie also inspired a lot of bike owners, myself included, to take our stock bikes and make choppers out of them. Where a look at Jesse James choppers may have given us a slight inkling, the new program from Discovery put us over the edge.
Like it or not, the show changed the way custom choppers were built in this country. The theme bikes from OCC, once very unique items, were now popping up in chopper shops all over the country. Every one was doing some sort of tribute chopper and putting it out there for all the world to see. It not only changed the way bike builders built choppers it also led the way for the huge, if not temporary in some cases, success of companies like Big Bear Choppers, Big Dog Choppers, and American Ironhorse who all were pumping out production custom bikes as fast as they could sell them.
What had once been a bunch of guys taking Harley Davidson motorcycles and putting a grinder and a welder to them to produce one of a kind choppers was now an assembly line process turning out custom choppers the way Henry Ford turned out the Model A. I believe this may have ruined the cutsom motorcycle industry and custom choppers in general. In fact I actually created a single page blog, just to discuss it: Custom Motorcycles.
As everyone now knows, Vinnie and Cody have left the business to form their own company V-Force Customs. It appeared from that episode that Vinne had finally had enough of Paulie and OCC taking all the credit for all his work. And you guys may remember Mike Campo from the early shows. I actually talked with him in person a few years back and he basically told me that he left because he was sick of Paulie and couldn’t work with him any more. Remember the Statue of Liberty Chopper?
Anyway, Paul Teutul Sr has built an empire with OCC and I have had the pleasure of personally viewing many of these bikes in person and can tell you that the detail is incredible, just like everyone says on the show, and after comparing their choppers against other famous custom bike builders I can assure you that as far as quality goes no builder’s bikes that I have seen in person come close to Orange County’s bikes. In fact I’ve seen a lot of bikes built on Biker Buildoff that are literally falling apart now.
We all know that OCC had lost both Paulie and Mikey because of conflicts with Paul Sr and from what I’m seeing on the show, Rick and the remaining Mike need a freaking raise. I believe some of the last few bikes they have built have been some of their best. They’re getting back to what choppers are and away from the whole “cartoon” look of some of the last theme bikes that were done when Paul Jr was still with them. Is it possible that the shop that ruined custom choppers might actually be the one that brings them back? Time will tell.

“As everyone now knows, Vinnie and Cody have left the business to form their own company V-Force Customs. It appeared from that episode that Vinne had finally had enough of Paulie and OCC taking all the credit for all his work.”
Vinnie, who i personally know, left the shop because he was sick of all the fighting going on.
And in the end, what you can also see when you watch the show, Senior started to put the fights between him and junior onto Vince. Vince was blamed by senior because of all things in the end. Mikey would probably tell you the same.
“And you guys may remember Mike Campo from the early shows. I actually talked with him in person a few years back and he basically told me that he left because he was sick of Paulie and couldn’t work with him any more. Remember the Statue of Liberty Chopper?”
Thats what Campo said. In fact Campo just did whatever he wanted never listening to Junior.
The Liberty bike, Junior wasn’t friend with the idea of that face in the first place. And Senior forced this idea and Campo onto him.
Senior thought it was a good idea, and then he had to “play boss” like he usually did.
Senior did the exact same on the Caterpillar bike. Just this time he did it just to piss junior off.
All the way you can see how he tries to push juniors buttons in that episodes.
Thats also something vinnie agreed when i talked to him about it.
Campo was a good worker, just he and junior didn’t fit.
If you then got a boss acting like an asshole that forces you to work togheter, even tho he knows it won’t work… well there you go. Blame senior for it.
Also blame senior for junior to leave OCC once for all.
He never was able to bring in any constructive critique. All he did was attacking personal, and in the end it got worse and worse.
Senior lost controll over OCC, other people are running that company, he still owns it, but thats it.
Because of his loss of control, and mindwashing by a certain guy in the same office, mikey left.
Senior and the others started bulling mikey out of that company. He didn’t just go into rehab because of his drinking, but also because of the Problems his father and his “Officebuddy” caused by treating him like shit.
Junior acted quite a bit like a queen, as a matter of fact.
He was pissed by stupid choices his father made.
The bikes they did after junior left where’nt that way thanks to Senior, Mike and the other builders left.
If you look close enough, its the new chief designer Jason Pohl who is responsible for that.
Mike Amorati, Christian Welter, Rick Petko. They are great fabricators. In case of rick probably way ahead of junior.
But that didn’t make the bikes any better then those junior worked on with vinnie and rick.
In the End all you ever see is senior and his office buddy still trying to blame junior and mikey for everything.
Even now that they are gone, senior can’t stop blaming junior and talking bad about him in the company.
He brings up lies and such when stating “Junior said he gives a shit if you guys get your money to feed your familys”, when in fact junior just said “you pushed me out of the company. And i want to opt out. How you pay your workes and bills is not my concern anymore”
Good night!
I also do motorcycle style choppers, but use forks and food are similar to those produced by the class of the OCC. See on my site at the vehicle.
Help me to share my work because I need to sell that many bikes.

These bikes used to be shown in cartoons. Never thought these are real when I’ve seen you show. How can I get one?
Vinnie is back, but where is Cody?
Paul Sr..
I think the language you use to describe your sons is just awful. Maybe you should wash your mouth out with soap. I hope paul jr. Makes it big in the build business and you eat your words. And if your gonna fire anyone why don’t you get rid of that snake Jason…
Greetings,
Hey Andy, you didn’t mention anything about Jr. and his new business venture with Vinnie. The Discovery channel is showing the same content that TLC showed a few months ago, and there must be at least four months between then and now. What’s going on with PJD at this stage in the game?
I still owe you 40bucks
personaly i think that they build with too many harly motors they need to mix it up use diffrent motors
but over all here still good. p.s im a big indean lary fan if he was still around i think he would beat occ
your show is turning into a soap opera,i watched it all the time, now i just turn it off.when you and jr we”re building you did real nice work.now all its about is fighting with each other over what money big deal get back to building those bikes close that chapter of fighting and get back too what you 2 are great at,life is way to short,so you all need to suck it up,you all remind me of my grand children.
Sir, i know you don’t know who I am but i have an idear on a bike that every bike bike inthuist would want, if you would like to talk to me about my idear i would be honored to share my futuristic bike with you and your company. The reason im coming to is because you have the money and technoligy to build this bike of the future. I’m offering you the first oppurtunity at my idear!!!!!!!
This is for Paul SR u was no father to those boys you was a drunk & drugey plus u want to see your sons fail at everything what father that turned his life around would be like that?I guess all of the years you wasn’t around messed up what little bit of pee brain you have left. I pray & know PAUL JR WILL MAKE IT BIG CAUSE U SR ARE NOTHING U MAKE ME SICK.When u die your kids will not miss you thats sad but you did it to your self…
occ, i have been a long time fan of yours but im concernd about you getting away from the main and thats building bikes your bickering back and forth was great but its getting too much my girl friend and i have just turned 50 we both lost our jobs this past year and we are getting close to losing our home but we never fight we try to build each other up if you walked a mile in our shoes maybe your problems would not seem so great , mickey and paul jr. dont spend another day fighting with your dad ,i lost my parents afew years ago. i miss them so much, i just wish i could have 1 day or even 1hr. with them. i thought i was smarter than they were, but it showed me really how much i didn;t know about life in general. and paul sr. i would like to show you my two babies speedy my basset hound and cookie my boxer.rescued them from the humane society. they are the best dogs and family members in the whole world. ron maze 765-271-5497. thanks.
OCC will not last, it will implode. Sr will continue to eat his own. Beth will leave too if she survives a Sr beatin’ and make booko bucks before everything goes down the crapper. Sr vs Jr is a dead cat bounce. Sr could very well end up in jail with bubba if anger management does not become a new hobby.
Hey Scott,
It’s obvious you don’t like Junior and it’s also obvious you have no clue who the real talent behind the early bikes was. Without Junior the old man would still either be working steel all day or turning out crap in his garage.
I hope every go,s back the way it was there is nothing like famley, you have one dad and one mom, and you don’t no what you have till every thing is gone
yeah sr.started occ,HAD one of the best designers in the world, but Sr.always found something 2 bitch about.I know jr.has his quirks (can’t tell time). But hey,jr.s popin’ out $150,000.bikes like nobody’s business, and sr.having a coronary over being late 4 work !You 2 HAD it going on.YOU BLEW IT SENIOR,you either need 2 eat some serious CROW or you’ll be looking @ JR.s tailights.I know SR. is smart man,it speaks 4 itself.@ this stage of the game I would just sit @ home & count $$ & let JR.keep rolling, that’s living a dream (4 anyone who had a grain of a brain).COMPLETLY ditch Vinnie & Steriodhead, find a rubberoom Mikey can play in.C’MON guy’s take the gloves OFF.You 2 can & already have 4 the most part LIVE THE “AMERICAN” DREAM !
Im so blown away by how paul sr. acts and how he always manages to downplay paul junior’s successes. Paul junior has handled all the negative remarks and gestures from his “so-called” father very well and I applaud him for doing so. Paul senior, shame on u! What kind of father would behave this way to their own child. I believe paul junior will rise way beyond what his father has accomplished and people will respect him for who he has become. Its already happening. I hope the best for u paulie. Ur a good person.
for that moron that wrote that campo’s liberty face was nice, sure it was but it didn’t belong oa the bike. it was a good choice to leave behind cause it would had look very ugly, and to mr, senior you are the worst there is in the world, who would do to their kids what you are doing, not even animals do that, i hope you get to see how wrong you are now that your dog died, or are so out if it that you care more for a dog than your blood, i have four dogs but my son is first in my heart he can’t do no wrong in my eyes. and i would never do to him what you ae doing to them sooo wrong. and say hi to all those kiss asses that work for you, like jason and nike i hope rick leaves and goes to work with jr.
People, this is a television show!I’m sure that some of the drama is real, but like the WWF there has to a good guy and a bad guy.We watch it because it is entertaining.Personally I like Sr.,no one know exactly what is the real Sr. or Jr.But I am sure Mikey has no talent to build bikes(just comic relief)I hope all works out for all and the show continues about building choppers.I wish everyone well and have a long healthy life.
You must not have a life cause you’re all over the internet
Sr wife better be glad jr is alive if not she would be bad mouthed as much as jr sr is a bitch boy who without his son would have to blame some one else for his failure as a human being seek help craby
I have seen all the show on discovery chanel..and just love the bikes,,And im thinking that your kids should show you some moore respect no matter what.and dont act like a spoild kids…and that junior is a diva who thinks he just can start on his own and get the same that senior have..but junior doesent thinking that was senior have has taking many many years to get..and have big big respect from all bikebuilders around the world..
In the end, personal relationships is all that matters. They had a good thing going at the start of the show and people were glued to watching them, even if we were not biker boys.
I believe Senior was not that bad but the cameras pointing at him constantly made him an over-actor and exaggerating everything which eventually drove away everyone who mattered.
How are they all doing now individually, anyhow? I’m most interested in Mikey. I bet he’s the most successful now. Irony of ironies.

OCC Gillette Chopper is so beautiful. I want to see it in my garage
ohh great! I love riding a motorcycle and I also do that one. Anyway, I’m thinking that your kids should show you some more respect no matter what. And don’t act like a spoiled kid’s right. The explanation coming to is because you have the wealth and equipment to build this bike of the future. I’m offered you the initial prospect at my plan! I hope everyone well and have a long in good physical shape life..
I just love your show! I hope I could get my very first bike soon. Got to work hard for it…
I always follow the American Chopper show. I like all the bikes they design. I always dream to ride one of their bikes. I especially like the OCC Splitback Chopper, this one looks stunning.
I am 11 & me & my dad watch u all the time.u inspired me to start bulding bikes to.
I mostly watch the show for its drama, not so much for the bikes that roll out of it. I too am wondering if what they are saying or yelling at each other – jr. and sr. especially – really comes tumbling fresh out of their mouths. Or if it has been through a screenwriters hand first.
But maybe its a between thing, where sr. before a take is told to come bursting through the officedoor with his plastic coffeecup sloshing in his hand, “… and then you yell something about all the mess in the workshop into jr.’s face, just use your own words the way, you do so fine.” “And then you jr. cry back that the mess isn’t yours, because you have had the whole day off, and just arrived.” “And sr., you of course don’t care, and you yell “clean it up!” before you burst back behind the closed door again.
Anyway, I hope sr. is not that big of a thoughtless roaring buffalo, as he often appears to be. Surely, it seems that his young boy did come late from time to another. But if jr. in the same time was the reason for the succes, so what! A not so little more gratefullness would have been appropriate.
I’m a huge fan of the Orange County Choppers show and Paul Senior and his crew. Their passion and love for motorcycles is just inspiring and amazing hence they make absolute works of art! I just wish there’s less bickering but I guess it’s normal for a family or company at that.
Oh, I’ve never been a fan of American Chopper, haven’t even seen its first series on TV but since I first saw my uncle driving this awesome ride, then there I started having interest on it… I’ve seen a lot of custom designs and they’re absolutely cool!

Hey People !
If you were a guy running business, and one or two of your subs come to work late, while you asked all of the rest to do the 7.00 – 5.00 !
If you were sons of a businessman , and if you come to work late while everyone else had to do the 7.00 – 5.00 !
If you were employees of a company that requested that you show up 7.00 and work until 5.00 , while sons of the boss can come and go any time. BTW, sons of the boss also took the credit on the outcomes !
If you were the viewers…..
I said, ” FU.. ‘em all ” , there are thousand that can do a better jobs !
